As many of you are aware, 104th Avenue
has been in need of improvements for quite some time.
It is my pleasure to announce that the project has begun.
Detour routes will be clearly marked for both residents
and drivers going to the businesses and cemetery.
1. The road will have various levels of closures between
167th St. and 159th St. for the reconstruction and adding
a 3rd lane (a “dead lane”) which will function
as a turn lane into the side streets, residential areas
and businesses.
2. Between 167th and the cemetery will be one way traffic
going NORTH so the cemetery and the businesses may be
easily accessed. This portion of the closure will be removed
in NOVEMBER of this year.
3. From the cemetery to 163rd Pl., the road will be opened
for residential traffic to access their homes with complete
access to the detour route. (to 108th Ave.)
4. The final 1,000 feet north to 159th Street will remain
completely closed to traffic until May 2009 so that the
road may be raised approximately 9 feet to stop the constant
flooding of that portion of the road. If you recall, this
road was closed several times last year because water
collected on the road preventing safe passage and remained
closed until the water naturally subsided.
