Discount Program
ICE DETAINER POLICY OF COOK COUNTY

Cook County Commissioner Elizabeth Gorman announced the "Liz Gorman Discount Presciprtion Card" program today.

The program is open to everyone and has not age or income restrictions.

If you or anyone you know are interested in beginning your savings on prescription drugs, please click the link below to download your free discount prescription card and begin using it today. No registration necessary: The discount card is good at CVS, Walgreens, Costco, Dominicks, Target and many more. Click here to check for the nearest participating pharmacy. You can also click here to check the formulary to find out if your prescription is covered.

At its September 7, 2011 board meeing, the County Board of Commissioners approved ordinance 11-O-73 which requires the Sheriff to refuse complaince with ICE detainer requests.

Cook County Commissioner Elizabeth Gorman OPPOSED this policy and is currently working on a a repeal of the policy as well as a county-wide referendum on the subject.

The vote to approve the ordinance was 10-5 with Commissioner Gorman voting NO.
